2020 would have been the 5th year standing together in front of the Chinese Consulate in Toronto.

However, due to Covid_19, social distancing and the safety of the protesters, this years rally will be taking place virtually.

Over 10,000 to 15,000 dogs — many just puppies — are killed and consumed during the Yulin Festival, and it's going to happen all over again.

The Festival takes place in Yulin, Guangxi, China during the summer solstice from June 21st until June 30th.

Leading up to and during the festival animals are abducted from their homes, their porches and backyards, and some are even taken while on walks with their families.

Victims are also raised in meat farms and vulnerable strays are also butchered.

And their pain does not end when the festival is over as the dog and cat meat industry continues all year. It's estimated that each year in China alone, 10 million dogs and 4 million cats will be slaughtered for the meat industry.

With each passing year, it is easy to get discouraged as the festival, and meat trade continues, but we can’t give up. We have to stay strong and united to end the suffering and torture of these defenceless animals.

We need to show the Chinese Government that we are not going away.

We will NOT remain silent and we will NOT stop protesting.

Please stand with us and use your voice to support this cause.

Our greatest power is our compassion;

Our strongest resource is our voice; don’t let them fade into silence
